Smartphone Vs. Palm OS? – Verizon

I know it will be a little off the subject and not really specific but I am current Verizon Verizon Subscibe and receive VZW wants a certain spin.

I’ve pretty much determined that my next phone is a clam shell style combination PDA and mobile phone. Ive also found that it would not be implemented PDA-style (ie pad the electoral process hardware buttons, and not something to be projected on the screen).

It looks like it will decide two major operating systems to choose from, Palm and Smartphone. I also have a Palm and PocketPC extensivley PDA (IPAQ now with PocketPC 2002) used. I know Smartphone and PocketPC are different animals. I am looking for someone can be said that opinions on strengthsweaknesses the two operating systems have.

I want to be able to sync my contacts, calendar, to-do list with my PC (Outlook), that I could achieve with the operating system needs.

understand that I can see:
– Palm is established, stable operating system. But I find the options a bit limited compared to Pocket PC devices. On a dedicated fan of 25′s not my screen to enter data.
